Located on the western shore of Lake Garda, Gardone Riviera is a small and charming place best explored by foot. It is a more upscale town that was very popular during the Belle Epoque.
Gardone’s main attraction is the huge botanical garden, currently known as the Heller Gardens.
The most notable building in Gardone is Il Vittoriale degli Italiani, an imposing estate overlooking the lake that once was the home controversial writer Gabriele D’Annunzio.
